IMPHAL, Apr 7 : The Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), Satjal has asked Pastor Takhellambam Ramananda to appear before their office at Heipok within a week for allegedly comparing their members with a cat in a video footage which has been circulated widely by social media users. Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, UFO general secretary Y Meiraba Angom said that they take the insult very seriously as it hurt their sentiments. Notably, Takhellambam Ramananda was seen comparing a group of people with a cat and designating them not as fools but less wiser people for worshipping the Sun as God and not the Creator in a clip which has been doing the rounds in social media. Asking Ramananda to appear before their office at Heipok or choose a place of his preference where he feels safe within a week to hold a dialogue over the controversial remarks, Meiraba continued that they will decide what steps to be taken up next if the person in question doesn't show up. He said that they, however, will not use force 'as Satjal believes in world peace and not violence.'
Continuing that Satjal respects all faiths, practices and communities, Meiraba maintained that the UFO works under the motto of 'universal peace and love to make a world without war.' "Satjal doesn't take anyone as our enemy," Meiraba said and asked why Ramananda is so fond of belittling others' religions and beliefs. Further stating there are many other clips where Ramananda is seen making fun of other practises, Meiraba cautioned that there will be chaos in the society if the religious sentiment of people is hurt beyond tolerable limits. Meiraba also expressed desire for the seniors of Ramananda to counsel the latter so that he may respect other religions. UFO secretary (home) L Loyumba, finance secretary L Tairen and several members also attended the programme.
