Kannada TV actor Chethana Raj allegedly suffered complications from a' fat-free'plastic surgery at Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre in Bengaluru on 16 May.
New Delhi Complications from a “ fat-free” plastic surgery allegedly claimed the life of Kannada TV actor Chethana Raj (21), who breathed her last Monday in Bengaluru.
She reportedly passed the procedure at Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre in Bengaluru on the morning of 16 May.
Scarified by the accumulation of fluid in Raj’s lungspost-surgery, croakers at the clinic reportedly rushed her to Kaade Hospital where, according to a statement given to police, sweats were made for 45 twinkles to resuscitate her.
The case couldn't be revived as it appeared that she was brought dead, Dr Sandeep V — an ICU intensivist at Kaade Hospital — said in a report filed at the Basaveshwar Nagar police station.
According to Sandeep, Melvin, an anaesthesiologist from Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre, slogged into the sanitarium with a case (Chethana Raj) around5.30 pm Monday. The anaesthesiologist, the report says, disregarded “ all the protocols of the sanitarium” while “ hanging its security”.
Our croakers were forced to toe the line of Dr Melvin and platoon with pitfalls and though they were apprehensive that the case was brought dead, they were constrained into declaring only at 0645 pm, for reasons best known to them. We explosively expostulate to this kind of geste by these croakers and if necessary, we may decide to file a report against them. This report is being transferred to you to bring to your notice this incident which doesn't appear normal,” the report added.
The actor’s family has contended negligence by Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre as a factor in her death. No immediate statement was made by Dr Shetty’s Cosmetic Centre.

In 2015, Telugu actor Aarthi Agarwal had failed of a cardiac arrest at the age of 31, following a liposuction surgery in New Jersey.
Liposuction — a ornamental surgery that targets redundant body fat — is one of the procedures offered by Dr Shetty’s, but details of the procedure that Raj passed are unclear.
Liposuction isn't a weight- loss surgery. It involves the use of a cannula to stink out fat from targeted portions of the body. The surgery generally has short- term benefits, with fat likely to return to the treated areas within a many months.
Although the procedure is considered to be safe, a check conducted in the US in 2000 plant that the prevalence of death among those who suffer liposuction was advanced than casualty rates among victims of road accidents.
One study from Brazil plant that pulmonary thromboembolism — a blockage in one of the highways in the lungs — was the most common cause of death after a liposuction surgery.
According to a global check by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ISAPS), India ranked fourth in the world in the number of ornamental procedures performed — — in 2015.
